Industry pricing guides commonly cite a wide range depending on the type of machine:
- Used, standard snack or drink machines: roughly $1,200–$3,000.
- New standard machines: roughly $3,000–$6,000 depending on snack, drink, or combo configuration.
- Smart or AI-powered machines with touchscreens and remote monitoring: anywhere from $4,000 up to $15,000 or more for premium systems.
That's just the equipment. Ongoing costs — restocking, software fees, card-processing fees,and maintenance — typically add up to somewhere in the neighborhood of $50–$150 per machine per month, on top of the time it takes to actually manage all of it.
The real cost isn't always the dollars
A well-placed machine can gross a few hundred dollars a month and take roughly a year to pay off the equipment — which can work out fine if running vending machines is the business you're actually in. For most offices, warehouses, apartment communities, gyms, medical facilities, and dealerships, it isn't.
